THE NIAGARA BOUNDARY If you travel either side of the Niagara River from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario chances are you've seen these oblong concrete stones along the side the river. These are boundary markers which are used to determine the exact location of the boundary between the United States and Canada. I'm not sure exactly how it works (and I couldn't find someone who could tell me) but I believe surveyors use these markers to pinpoint the exact boundary. Did you know that the Canada-United States boundary is the longest in the world.It's 8,891 kilometres(1,538) and is also the world's longest un-militarized border.
